Software Engineer (Applications)

Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States; office environment required. Occasional travel may be required. U.S. person status or eligibility for an export license is required under ITAR/EAR; U.S. citizenship is required for some contracts.

Salary: $74,500–$113,500 per year

What you will do

• Plan, design, develop, document, and test software systems and applications for training and simulation products.
• Build standalone, networked, cloud-based, and internet-related tools and software enhancements.
• Derive algorithm designs from detailed requirements and participate in software design reviews.
• Write code and unique unit tests, debug applications, and validate software within a formal lifecycle process.
• Reuse developed software across programs and collaborate with multiple software development teams.
• Contribute to process improvements and provide guidance to less experienced engineers under moderate supervision.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, physics, or equivalent education and experience.
• 2–5 years of relevant Windows or Linux application software development experience.
• Expertise in C#/.NET, C++, and/or Qt, along with Unity development experience.
• Experience with object-oriented design, unit testing, debugging, Agile development, and formal software lifecycle processes.
• Familiarity with Git or SVN, IDEs, debuggers, data structures, databases, operating systems, and basic networking.
• Must qualify as a U.S. person or be eligible for an export license under ITAR/EAR; some contracts require current U.S. citizenship.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree.
• Experience developing or integrating real-time image generators using CIGI.
• Experience with UAS, drones, or robotics.
