Senior Director, Estates and Special Gifts

What you will do

• Lead revenue performance across estates-in-probate, life income gifts, and special gifts, including endowments.
• Drive the resolution of matured estates and trusts and increase realized bequests.
• Direct life income gifts, endowment, and IRA special gifts programs, handling unusual cases and coordinating legal support.
• Ensure accurate contracts, tax forms, substantiation letters, reporting, and compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
• Partner with national and affiliate finance and development teams through training, technical assistance, and gift reporting.
• Lead vendor evaluation, estates-in-probate service modernization, and reporting operations improvements.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree required; CAP, CFP, or JD credentials are preferred.
• 10+ years of development or equivalent client-facing experience, including 3–5 years in gift planning.
• Direct experience closing complex life income gifts, including charitable gift annuities, trusts, pooled income funds, and real estate gifts.
• Strong knowledge of tax law, wills, financial planning, charitable gift regulations, and estate administration.
• Strong CRM skills, high proficiency with Google Docs and Sheets, and experience with gift calculation software, preferably PG Calc.
• Experience mentoring staff, presenting, providing training, and working with diverse and multicultural groups.
