TL;DR
Senior System Android AOSP Engineer (Android/AOSP): Building and evolving Android platform solutions for video collaboration products with an accent on AOSP customization, framework architecture, and cross-layer debugging. Focus on designing reusable system services and frameworks, analyzing native and platform traces, and reducing porting and maintenance effort across Android releases.

Location: Ukraine; remote or office work

What you will do

  • Diagnose and resolve complex Android platform and customer-reported issues across the OS, framework, system services, applications, and hardware layers.
  • Develop and maintain solutions across AOSP, the Android Framework, SDK layers, and system services.
  • Design scalable, reusable Android frameworks that reduce porting and maintenance effort across future Android releases.
  • Analyze logcat, ANR traces, tombstones, native crash dumps, bugreports, Systrace, and Perfetto traces to identify root causes.
  • Collaborate with engineering, QA, and customer-facing teams to drive issues through resolution.
  • Track Android releases, APIs, platform changes, and architectural trends to improve platform maintainability.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of Android software engineering experience with deep expertise in Android internals and AOSP customization.
  • Strong knowledge of the Android Framework, system services, SDK layers, AOSP build systems, and platform architecture.
  • Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, C, and C++.
  • Expertise in Android IPC, including Binder, AIDL, JNI, and system-service development.
  • Experience debugging camera and media, audio, display, USB and peripheral connectivity, networking, native services, and hardware layers.
  • Upper-Intermediate or higher English required for daily communication with international teams.
