Application Technology Architect – Drone & UAV Applications

What you will do

• Define end-to-end system architectures for industrial and defense drone and UAV platforms.
• Translate customer missions and use cases into system, hardware, software, performance, safety, security, and interface requirements.
• Drive hardware/software partitioning across MCUs, MPUs/SoCs, AI accelerators, programmable logic, sensors, connectivity, power electronics, and actuators.
• Architect flight control, sensor fusion, navigation, perception, autonomous mission execution, obstacle detection, and collision avoidance systems.
• Develop communication, power, propulsion, redundancy, cybersecurity, fault-containment, and fail-safe architectures.
• Guide product roadmaps, reference platforms, customer engagements, system integration, verification, validation, and flight-test activities.

Requirements

• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in electrical, aerospace, computer, robotics, mechatronics, systems engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in drone, UAV, aerospace, robotics, autonomous-system, or embedded-system development with substantial system architecture and integration responsibility.
• Hands-on experience taking at least one UAV platform through architecture, development, integration, verification, flight testing, and product deployment.
• Deep knowledge of UAV architectures, including flight controllers, mission computers, avionics, propulsion, power systems, payloads, communications, and ground-control systems.
• Strong knowledge of embedded systems, MCUs, MPUs/SoCs, real-time software, embedded Linux, RTOS platforms, heterogeneous computing, flight control, navigation, GNSS/RTK, perception, and autonomy.
• Ability to collaborate with semiconductor, software, AI, connectivity, power, security, validation, customer, and ecosystem teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with PX4, ArduPilot, ROS 2, MAVLink, DDS, or comparable UAV and robotics frameworks.
• Knowledge of EASA or FAA UAV regulations, Remote ID, BVLOS operations, DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, or ARP4761.
• Experience with edge AI, computer vision, SLAM, visual-inertial odometry, radar, LiDAR, AI accelerators, or digital-twin environments.
• Background in electric propulsion, motor control, battery management, power conversion, cybersecurity, secure communications, or GNSS resilience.
