VP of System Applications (Logistics Robotics)

What you will do

• Set the technology and organizational strategy for logistics operation applications, warehouse management systems, and robot GUIs.
• Build, structure, and lead the engineering organization, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and career development.
• Own solution architecture and technical direction across frontend, backend, cloud-hosted services, and edge communication systems.
• Manage engineering budgets, headcount planning, infrastructure and tooling investments, vendor decisions, delivery plans, and resourcing.
• Partner with Automation, Hardware, QA/QC, and Business teams to align platform roadmaps with customer, warehouse, hardware, and business requirements.
• Oversee development, deployment, maintenance, and validation of scalable robot management functionality using real robots and store environments.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with frontend and backend responsibility, including 3+ years in engineering management or leadership.
• Hands-on experience with C# (.NET), TypeScript, frontend application development, and Microsoft Azure.
• Experience developing for Linux and Windows, releasing applications to production, using Git in team development, and taking applications from inception through maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture patterns, including Clean Architecture, and experience designing applications with UI/UX considerations.
• Experience building and scaling engineering teams, managing engineers or managers, hiring, mentoring, and owning budgets.
• English at a functional level and conversational Japanese are required.

Nice to have

• Experience in robotics, logistics, hardware-adjacent industries, ROS, IoT edge devices, or distributed telemetry and monitoring.
• Knowledge of gRPC, MQTT, WebSocket, Blazor, Unity/C#, reactive programming, or dependency injection.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, B2B applications, or game-engine-based UI development.
