Working Student - IT General Controls

Location: Cologne; remote work is possible, including up to 20 days per year from anywhere within the EU.

What you will do

• Support day-to-day IT control management by following up on tickets, collecting audit evidence, and tracking actions through closure.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and independently drive outstanding control topics forward.
• Improve and automate control processes using Excel, Power Query, and Python.
• Help build an integrated controls setup connected to Jira, Confluence, and their APIs.
• Organize control activities, documentation, and deadlines while identifying opportunities to simplify repetitive processes.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related technical field, with at least one year remaining.
• Good Excel skills, including XLOOKUP and Pivot Tables; experience with Power Query is beneficial.
• Knowledge of Python, Jira, Confluence, APIs, and AI tools such as ChatGPT.
• Organized, proactive, self-reliant, process-oriented, and confident communicating with stakeholders.
• Fluent English is required.

Nice to have

• Hands-on Python experience from an automation, university, or personal project.
• Experience using or connecting to APIs.
• German language skills.
