Junior Embedded Software Developer (Automotive): Developing ROM firmware for microcontrollers that initializes hardware, starts systems, and strengthens security in next-generation automotive and embedded products with an accent on low-level C programming, pre-silicon verification, and functional safety. Focus on designing early-stage firmware, debugging embedded targets before silicon availability, and ensuring resilience against physical and logical threats.
Location: Brno or Rožnov, Czech Republic. Candidates must have a valid visa and work permit to work in the Czech Republic.

What you will do
- Develop ROM firmware that runs first on microcontrollers, initializes hardware, and starts the system.
- Shape software requirements, system architecture, code, and configuration.
- Develop firmware in early stages, including before hardware silicon is available.
- Verify and debug embedded software in pre-silicon environments and work toward complete test coverage.
- Improve firmware security and resilience against physical and logical threats.
- Collaborate with hardware, validation, security, architects, and senior engineers while following EdgeLock, safety, and security requirements.
Requirements
- Practical experience with embedded programming in C and an interest in working close to hardware.
- Understanding of microcontroller architecture and strong analytical and debugging skills.
- Familiarity with software development workflows, best practices, and Git or another version control tool.
- Effective written and spoken English.
- Valid visa and work permit for the Czech Republic.
Nice to have
- Experience with ROM code, bootloaders, low-level drivers, or embedded microcontroller software.
- Knowledge of ASPICE, ISO 26262, or other automotive development standards.
- Experience with ARM-based microcontrollers and real-time operating systems.
- Python scripting and build tools such as Make.
