Head of Risk (Fintech)

Location: Riga, Latvia; hybrid flexibility with office and home working, plus up to three months per year working from another country.

Salary: From €6,000 per month, plus stock options.

hirify.global is building a European wealth-building platform and is working toward obtaining a banking licence from the European Central Bank.

What you will do

• Lead and scale the risk function while ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
• Transition the risk-management framework to meet banking supervision requirements, including ICAAP, ILAAP, risk appetite, and governance documentation.
• Oversee credit, market, interest-rate, and liquidity risk activities with a strategic and hands-on approach.
• Collaborate transparently and proactively with regulators and auditors.
• Partner with the management and supervisory boards to align risk strategy with business objectives.
• Improve risk-function efficiency through technology, automation, and AI-driven tools while developing a strong culture of ownership and integrity.

Requirements

• 5+ years of risk-management experience in a bank or regulated financial institution, with senior responsibility across multiple risk areas.
• Deep knowledge of prudential banking frameworks, including CRR/CRD and ICAAP/ILAAP.
• Strategic mindset combined with a hands-on leadership style.
• Experience working with regulators and auditors.
• Track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
• Excellent English required; Latvian language skills are a strong advantage.
