Head of Blockchain Security

Location: New York City, United States; onsite at the office at least 4 days per week

Salary: $260,000–$275,000 annual base salary, plus discretionary annual target bonus, performance incentives, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own and elevate the security posture of blockchain infrastructure, custody systems, and smart contract protocols.
• Lead architectural reviews and security audits of Solidity, Rust, and Move smart contracts, including oversight of external audits.
• Advise protocol founders, engineering leads, and executives through prioritized technical risk reports and actionable recommendations.
• Build blockchain monitoring, alerting, automated detection, and emergency exit systems across major ecosystems.
• Assess institutional custody systems, treasury controls, and third-party vendor infrastructure.
• Develop scalable security frameworks and facilitate incident-response tabletop exercises.

Requirements

• 7+ years of cybersecurity experience, including 5+ years focused on blockchain and smart contract security.
• Hands-on experience assessing smart contracts written in Solidity, Rust, and/or Move.
• Strong background in C/C++, Linux, cloud-native architectures, AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Senior-level penetration testing, application security, offensive security, design reviews, and threat modeling experience, including OWASP Top 10 and SANS CWE 25.
• Deep expertise in applied cryptography, PKI, encryption, and network protocols including IP, DNS, HTTP, and SSL/TLS.
• Knowledge of institutional custody infrastructure and DeFi protocols across Ethereum, Solana, Stacks, and Sui, with strong communication skills across global time zones.

• Offensive security certifications such as OSCP, OSWE, or OSCE.
• Public security research, published vulnerability papers, or presentations at major industry conferences.
