What you will do
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary research team from project conception through technology transfer and commercialization.
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments for new product formulations and commercial-scale chemical processes.
- Apply statistical analysis, machine learning, modeling, and data-driven optimization to improve research outcomes and process efficiency.
- Investigate polymer structure-property relationships and develop materials meeting defined performance requirements.
- Drive innovation in material-processing methods while collaborating with technical, business, customer, and stakeholder teams.
- Author and review patents, technical reports, publications, proposals, and other research documentation.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Science, or a related discipline.
- Substantial experience leading research and development projects, with high-impact publications and patent contributions.
- Experience in chemical process development, pilot-scale scale-up, optimization, and translation to commercial implementation.
- Hands-on experience establishing and operating pilot facilities and designing experimental programs for commercial-scale processes.
- Strong expertise in statistical analysis, modeling, interpretation of experimental data, and data science techniques.
- Strong communication, customer and stakeholder management, commercialization, mentoring, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with advanced process control, modeling software, and data-driven process optimization.
- Knowledge of particle technology, polymer processing, polyurethane technologies, or related material systems.
- Experience with ISO quality standards, safety procedures, continuous manufacturing, web handling, film casting, coating, or roll-to-roll manufacturing.
- Leadership or management-related certifications.
