Associate Staff Engineer (Mobile-Android)

hirify.global is hiring for an Android engineering role supporting a China-focused mobile application.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and refactor native Android features for the China app.
• Participate in technical design, API integration, code reviews, unit testing, and troubleshooting.
• Optimize startup time, page rendering, memory usage, ANR rate, package size, network resilience, crash rate, and user experience metrics.
• Collaborate with product, UI/UX, backend, and QA stakeholders to clarify requirements, identify risks, and deliver features.
• Align with the global mobile team on component libraries, shared SDKs, security policies, and release workflows while adapting them to China-specific requirements.
• Investigate production anomalies, crash logs, and user feedback; support hotfixes, patch releases, componentization, and reusable internal SDK development.

Requirements

• Native Mandarin proficiency is required.
• 4–5.5 years of professional native Android development experience.
• Strong Kotlin and Java foundations with familiarity with the Android SDK.
• Experience with Android Jetpack, including Compose, ViewModel, LiveData, Room, and WorkManager.
• Good written and reading English is essential.
• Knowledge of secure coding, privacy, personal data protection, user consent, and China-market compliance requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience developing consumer-facing travel, hospitality, or e-commerce mobile applications.
• Good spoken English.
