Global Markets Fundamental Strategies Group Desk Analyst (HY / Distressed / Loans) (Credit Research and Natural Resources): Evaluating US corporate credit trading opportunities across bank loans, high-yield bonds, and distressed debt by building financial models and developing long and short trade recommendations with an accent on fundamental credit analysis, trading technicals, and natural resources expertise. Focus on constructing cash flow and valuation models, presenting investment theses and risk analyses, and assessing scenarios across corporate bonds, credit derivatives, leveraged loans, and reorganized equity.
Location: New York, NY, United States
Salary: USD 150,000–225,000 annually

What you will do
- Analyze credit opportunities using financial performance reviews, industry research, quantitative and qualitative diligence, and investment theses.
- Build cash flow, valuation, and financial models for corporate credit analysis.
- Develop executable long and short trade recommendations for bank loans, high-yield bonds, and distressed trading.
- Work with clients, investors, traders, and internal sub-groups to achieve commercial outcomes.
- Present investment theses and risk analyses to senior leaders.
- Assist with risk management across corporate bonds, credit derivatives, leveraged loans, and reorganized equity.
Requirements
- 2–5+ years of experience in credit research or investing, including buy-side or sell-side experience, investment banking, restructuring, private equity, or equity.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline, with a strong academic record.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills in asset management, investment banking, trading, or research.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
- Industry expertise in natural resources, including metals and mining, chemicals, power and utilities, and/or energy.
Nice to have
- Credit, equity, commodity, or natural resources investment banking, trading, or research experience.
- Knowledge of distressed frameworks and restructurings.
- Ability to multitask, manage competing priorities, and work effectively under pressure.
