TL;DR
Senior Software Engineer (SRE), Cloud Compute (AWS/Kubernetes): Migrating and modernizing shared compute infrastructure from legacy Beanstalk to EKS with an accent on Kubernetes, AWS networking, GitOps, and zero-downtime operations. Focus on designing scalable compute components, operating resilient production systems, and solving complex migration and distributed-systems challenges across multiple platform teams.

Location: Brazil; remote-first role

What you will do

  • Migrate workloads from legacy Beanstalk to EKS while maintaining functional parity, reliability, and zero downtime.
  • Design and maintain shared compute and networking components, including Private Link, VPC, load balancers, and the Core API.
  • Operate critical production infrastructure, ensuring high availability and resilience while participating in on-call rotations.
  • Evolve GitOps practices with ArgoCD and Argo Rollouts, alongside the team’s infrastructure as code.
  • Collaborate with Checkout, MasterData, Dark Kitchen, Traffic, and other teams that depend on Compute infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Experience as a backend or platform engineer operating and evolving Kubernetes and EKS infrastructure.
  • Hands-on production experience with AWS, including VPC, IAM, load balancers, Auto Scaling, and Beanstalk.
  • Strong knowledge of distributed systems and networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, proxies, and inter-service communication.
  • Experience with GitOps and infrastructure as code, such as ArgoCD, Pulumi, or equivalent tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, negotiate technical priorities, and collaborate with product and platform teams.

Nice to have

  • Experience migrating workloads between compute platforms and working with legacy systems in transition.
