Sustainability Analyst (Japanese Speaker)

Location: Tokyo, Japan; hybrid work model with office attendance 3 days per week during the first 3 months and 2 days per week thereafter.

What you will do

• Assess the adequacy and comprehensiveness of companies’ sustainability management systems using the hirify.global methodology.
• Analyze and synthesize sustainability information from policies, procedures, annual reports, codes of conduct, and other corporate documents.
• Review automated document classifications, text highlights, company structures, and system suggestions for accuracy.
• Analyze external news and reports and determine their impact on sustainability scores.
• Align corporate evidence with GRI, ISO 26000, ESRS, and other global sustainability frameworks.
• Perform quality checks, apply methodology updates, and maintain fair and unbiased scorecards.

Requirements

• At least 12 months of professional experience, including internships, in a related field.
• Advanced English proficiency in reading, writing, and oral communication.
• Advanced Japanese proficiency in reading, writing, and oral communication, including the ability to interpret Japanese documents using English-language guidelines.
• Bachelor’s degree; a sustainability focus is advantageous.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace applications and strong corporate-document comprehension skills.
• Analytical thinking, logical reasoning, attention to detail, autonomy, adaptability, and willingness to learn.

Nice to have

• Experience or academic focus in sustainability.
• Experience using AI collaboration tools and critically assessing automated inputs.
