SMTS - Field Application Engineer (MIPS)

What you will do

• Serve as the primary technical interface for customers during pre-sales and early development.
• Guide customer engineering teams through processor IP integration, software toolchains, development environments, and system architecture.
• Support evaluations, proposals, RFIs, presentations, workshops, demos, and design-win activities.
• Troubleshoot customer issues across hardware and software domains in collaboration with internal engineering teams.
• Translate customer requirements into actionable feedback for product and engineering teams.
• Engage with software, EDA, and design-service ecosystem partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience in field application engineering, applications engineering, or design engineering.
• Experience with semiconductor IP, SoC/ASIC development, embedded systems, or related electronics markets.
• Familiarity with processor architectures, embedded software development, compilers, SDKs, operating systems, and system-level integration.
• Strong customer-facing communication, debugging, independent working, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent English, written and verbal, is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with the RISC-V ecosystem or CPU IP integration.
• Experience with custom silicon or SoC development flows.
• Knowledge of functional safety standards or requirements in aerospace and defense.
