Software Engineer (Algorithms)

Location: Shanghai, China; requires global travel for short-term customer support and training.

What you will do

• Research, develop, and optimize advanced algorithms for defect inspection and critical dimension metrology.
• Work with image and signal processing, geometry pattern handling, high-performance computing, and machine learning methods.
• Define problems, study academic research, prototype solutions, evaluate feasibility and performance, and design product-level approaches.
• Develop, integrate, debug, and unit-test C++ software on Linux.
• Analyze large datasets, design software architecture, and develop data-mining solutions.
• Collaborate with global teams to identify and solve product and customer-production problems, including short-term international travel for support and training.

Requirements

• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.
• Strong background in at least one of image processing, signal processing, computer vision, pattern recognition, computational geometry, data analysis, high-performance computing, or machine learning.
• Experience with C, C++, and Python programming, plus algorithm design, software development, and debugging.
• Ability to independently identify, analyze, and solve complex problems.
• Fluent English and strong communication and teamwork skills; English design and development documentation is required.
• Ability to travel internationally for customer support and training.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of optics or semiconductor processes.
