TL;DR
SAICA Trainee (Accounting) (IFRS/GAAP): Developing accounting and financial reporting competence through a three-year CA training programme with an accent on balance sheet and P&L consolidation, technical accounting, budgeting, and rotations across tax, risk, internal audit, controlling, and commercial functions. Focus on preparing complex IFRS papers, supporting African entities and corporate reporting, and meeting SAICA technical and professional learning requirements.

Location: Hybrid role based in Midrand, South Africa

What you will do

  • Complete a three-year SAICA trainee programme aligned with the CA2025 framework.
  • Prepare and consolidate balance sheet, P&L, annual financial statements, management reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Analyze assets and liabilities and support account reconciliations with vendors and clients.
  • Prepare technical accounting papers for complex transactions and IFRS interpretations.
  • Rotate through tax, risk, internal audit, controlling, and commercial business functions.
  • Support African countries and corporate units with specialized financial reporting and accounting guidelines.

Requirements

  • Completed BCom Accounting Honours, CTA, or an equivalent postgraduate accounting qualification.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and deliver results.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid setup in Midrand, South Africa.
