Financial Officer - Intern

Location: Watertown, South Dakota or Aberdeen, South Dakota, US. Must be available to travel to Omaha, Nebraska three times during the 12-week summer internship.

Salary: $20.00 per hour, plus a $500 sign-on bonus for qualified interns.

What you will do

• Learn office procedures and assist with promotional and public activities.
• Input and analyze customers’ annual financial information.
• Conduct credit verifications with references and other lenders.
• Observe marketing, sales, prospecting, loan application, renewal, and closing activities.
• Gain exposure to legal requirements and real estate and chattel appraisal procedures.
• Complete assigned special projects supporting agricultural finance operations.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in agricultural business, accounting, finance, agricultural economics, animal science, or a similar field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong interest in agricultural finance, lending, and credit.
• Availability for a 12-week summer internship and travel to Omaha three times.
