Sample Collector / Phlebotomist (Ad Hoc)

Location: Sheffield, UK and surrounding areas; home-based role with collections generally within a 2-hour radius and initial training at the Lextox office

Collection payment: £48.67 per collection, plus appropriate travel expenses including fuel, parking fees, and sample postage.

Eurofins Forensic Services provides forensic testing, including drug, alcohol, and DNA testing services for family-law cases and childcare proceedings.

What you will do

• Attend pre-booked appointments at solicitor offices, local authority offices, donor homes, and other locations.
• Collect blood, hair, nail, and DNA samples using required procedures and venepuncture techniques.
• Build professional relationships with clients, donors, and members of the public.
• Follow the quality management system and support maintenance of ISO 17025 accreditation.
• Provide statements supporting legal proceedings at the point of sample collection.
• Complete all required company training and use provided PPE where necessary.

Requirements

• Professional Phlebotomy qualification with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience.
• Recent experience with venepuncture techniques, particularly vacutainer and butterfly methods.
• Ability to collect samples in non-clinical settings.
• Full UK driving licence and personal access to a vehicle with business insurance.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Hepatitis B vaccination and regular enhanced DBS checks are required.

Nice to have

• Experience working in the NHS or Blood Service.
• Experience collecting hair and DNA samples; in-house training is provided.
