Director, Software Engineering (AI): Leading a team that architects, develops, and delivers scalable, secure software systems and platform services handling sensitive customer data with an accent on technical leadership, service ownership, and engineering execution. Focus on designing high-availability systems, managing CI/CD and production performance, mentoring engineers and managers, and driving large-scale projects from roadmap to delivery.
Location: Seattle, Washington, United States
Salary: $163,900–$270,883 per year, plus potential performance-based bonus and restricted stock unit awards.

What you will do
- Lead a team of software engineers and drive technical excellence, service ownership, and accountability.
- Architect scalable, secure, high-performance systems with strict access controls and audit trails for sensitive customer data.
- Translate business strategy into technical roadmaps and oversee the delivery of large-scale software projects.
- Participate in architecture, design decisions, code reviews, code optimization, and engineering best-practice development.
- Manage team structure, capacity planning, hiring, performance reviews, mentoring, and career development.
- Track engineering KPIs, manage delivery risks, and coordinate with product, design, data science, and operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years in technical leadership and 2+ years in people management.
- Experience leading and delivering large-scale, complex software projects.
- Deep expertise in one or more of C, C++, C#, .NET, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, cloud technologies, and DevOps principles.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, leadership, and change-management skills; familiarity with enterprise-scale AI-powered development.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP; CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
- Knowledge of agile development, complex matrixed organizations, accessible technologies, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
