VP Programmatic (AdTech)

Location: Mostly remote from France, with visits to the Lille HQ for kickoff and key strategic meetings. The role is listed for Europe and some recruitment stages may require face-to-face attendance.

What you will do

• Take full ownership of web programmatic engineering as the CTO transitions to group-level responsibilities.
• Lead the technical direction across Flashbid, Actirise, Viously, Meetscale, and FastCMP through two team leads and a directly reporting engineering team.
• Arbitrate client-side and server-side auction architecture across wrappers, Prebid Server, OpenRTB gateways, and bidder integrations.
• Own the programmatic technical roadmap, build-or-kill decisions, hiring plan, and domain budget.
• Maintain bid-path p99 latency and availability SLOs while scaling traffic across approximately 4,000 publisher websites.
• Act as the company’s senior adtech escalation point and external technical representative with Prebid, IAB, and industry events.

Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering experience with senior technical leadership in sell-side adtech, such as CTO, VP Engineering, or Head of Programmatic Engineering.
• Deep hands-on expertise with Prebid client and server implementations and OpenRTB 2.6.
• Experience with Google Ad Manager, header bidding, Open Bidding, price granularity, dynamic floors, traffic shaping, and supply-side monetization.
• Strong understanding of TCF/GPP, DSA transparency, schain, sellers.json, MFA, IVT, and publisher-side privacy.
• Experience optimizing wrapper performance under Core Web Vitals, including INP, LCP, CLS, deferred auction initialization, and third-party script isolation.
• Ability to review and arbitrate Go, TypeScript/Node, Java, PHP, and Python systems running on Kubernetes; fluent English and daily AI-assisted engineering practice are required.

Nice to have

• French language skills.
• Large-scale OLAP analytics experience or machine learning deployed in latency-bound bid paths.
• Prebid open-source or IAB working-group experience.
• Publisher-side privacy depth, video or CTV monetization, or audio monetization experience.
