Location: Waltham, Massachusetts, United States; full-time onsite. Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, for the six-month co-op.

Salary: $27.00–$47.00 per hour

What you will do

• Synthesize, purify, and characterize oligonucleotides and small-molecule compounds.
• Operate and maintain solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesizers and related laboratory instruments.
• Perform ion exchange column chromatography for nucleic acid compound purification.
• Conduct LCMS analysis to evaluate purity, identity, and quality.
• Record experimental data, maintain laboratory notebooks, and follow data integrity standards.
• Interpret results, troubleshoot experiments, prepare reports and presentations, and collaborate with scientists.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a BS or MS program in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, or a related discipline.
• Permanently authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship.
• Must remain enrolled at an accredited college or university throughout the co-op.
• Knowledge of organic chemistry and/or biochemistry and prior laboratory experience in synthetic organic or nucleic acid chemistry.
• Experience or proficiency with oligonucleotide synthesizers, ion exchange chromatography, and LCMS is preferred.
• Strong scientific writing, communication, organization, and collaborative problem-solving skills.
