Sr. Staff Security Engineer, Platform Security (AI Infrastructure)

Location: Houston, New York, San Francisco, or Seattle, United States

Salary: $210,000–$250,000 USD per year, plus potential bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Perform deep security reviews of IaaS services, documenting architectures, threat models, findings, security baselines, and remediation plans.
• Assess bare-metal and virtualized GPU infrastructure, including hypervisors, GPU passthrough or partitioning, firmware, BMC management, and tenant reprovisioning.
• Review storage security, encryption, key management, access paths, snapshots, backups, secure deletion, and cross-tenant reuse.
• Test virtual network segmentation, management-plane separation, Kubernetes isolation, admission controls, workload identity, runtime hardening, and container escape paths.
• Assess Slurm/HPC job isolation and node reuse, producing evidence that customer workloads remain separated.
• Partner with platform, SRE, and infrastructure engineering to implement secure-by-default patterns and track remediation coverage.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in security engineering, platform or infrastructure engineering, or security architecture.
• Previous experience securing or assessing IaaS services at a cloud services provider where tenants were untrusted by default.
• Deep understanding of multi-tenant isolation across bare metal, hypervisors, containers, and network segmentation.
• Hands-on knowledge of GPU or accelerator infrastructure, including passthrough, partitioning, firmware, BMC management, and hardware reuse risks.
• Strong knowledge of storage security, virtual networking, Kubernetes internals, container runtimes, namespaces, cgroups, admission control, and workload identity.
• Ability to influence engineering teams without formal authority, define standards, build evidence, and drive remediation.

Nice to have

• Experience securing or assessing Slurm/HPC environments.
• Experience working with ambiguity in a founding-team or program-building capacity.
