AI Reasoning Analyst (Charts & Data)

What you will do

• Create challenging questions based on charts, graphs, maps, diagrams, and other data visualizations.
• Determine definitive answers and write clear, step-by-step solutions.
• Test questions and visualizations against AI models to identify reasoning failures.
• Refine tasks until the model produces an incorrect answer, then document the failure and the verified solution.
• Work with complex visualizations such as multi-axis, stacked, grouped, multi-series, and domain-specific figures.

Requirements

• Background in a quantitative field such as engineering, economics, finance, architecture, biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, or materials science.
• Strong quantitative and analytical reasoning with the ability to reach a defensible answer through multiple steps.
• Fluency reading complex charts, graphs, diagrams, maps, dense legends, multiple axes, and overlapping data.
• Clear written English for explaining reasoning step by step.
• Precision, attention to detail, and comfort using AI chat tools and iterating on prompts; no coding or machine learning background is required.
• Must be based in the United States and able to work independently on a flexible schedule.

Nice to have

• Access to complex charts or figures from coursework, research, or professional work.
• Experience with financial markets, materials science, GIS, mapping, data analysis, technical writing, tutoring, peer review, or AI/data work.
