AI Reasoning Analyst (Charts & Data)

Location: Remote within the United States; flexible hours.

What you will do

• Create challenging questions based on charts, graphs, maps, diagrams, and other data visualizations.
• Analyze each visualization and determine a definitive, checkable answer.
• Write clear, step-by-step solutions that reviewers can verify.
• Test charts and questions with AI models, identify reasoning failures, and refine tasks to expose those failures.
• Use visualizations from personal coursework, research, or professional experience when appropriate.

Requirements

• Background in a quantitative field such as engineering, economics, finance, architecture, biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, or materials science.
• Strong quantitative and analytical reasoning, with the ability to solve multi-step problems and support defensible conclusions.
• Fluency in reading complex visualizations with multiple axes, dense legends, overlapping series, or spatial data.
• Clear written English is required for explaining reasoning step by step.
• Precision, attention to detail, and comfort using AI chat tools and iterating on prompts; coding or ML experience is not required.
• Must be based in the United States and able to work independently on a flexible schedule.

Nice to have

• Access to complex charts or figures from coursework, research, or professional work.
• Deep familiarity with financial markets, materials science, GIS, mapping, or another visualization-rich domain.
• Experience with data analysis, technical writing, tutoring, peer review, or AI/data work.
