Lead Audio Designer (AAA Game Audio): Driving the creative and technical execution of audio for an ambitious AAA game project with an accent on sound design, real-time audio systems, scalable pipelines, and immersive player experiences. Focus on designing dynamic audio features, optimizing memory and runtime performance, establishing mixing workflows, and mentoring an expanding audio team.
Location: Montreal, Canada. External candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview at an location before a hiring decision.

What you will do
- Drive the creative and technical execution of audio for an ambitious AAA game project.
- Create and implement high-quality sound design while shaping the project’s sonic identity and immersive player experience.
- Define and evolve audio workflows, pipelines, implementation strategies, and scalable audio systems in the game engine.
- Guide dynamic audio features responding to gameplay, physics interactions, environments, player actions, and voice-over systems.
- Lead audio optimization, debugging, testing, mixing, and performance efforts, including memory management and streaming.
- Mentor audio designers, support hiring and onboarding, and collaborate with design, engineering, narrative, animation, QA, production, and external partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in audio, music, game development, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive AAA game audio development experience, including experience in a senior-level role and on shipped titles.
- Strong expertise in real-time, procedural, and system-driven audio implementation.
- Deep understanding of mixing workflows, including ducking, sidechaining, and complex mix hierarchies.
- Strong knowledge of audio formats and their impact on performance, memory, and user experience.
- Excellent communication, organization, leadership, debugging, testing, and optimization skills.

- Experience with systemic or open-world gameplay environments.
- Experience building and scaling teams from early project phases.
- Experience collaborating with external partners or outsourcing pipelines.
- Strong creative sensibility and passion for interactive audio.
