Early Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails/React)

What you will do

• Build a modern SaaS platform for CPG brands and manufacturers to manage lab testing and regulatory compliance.
• Work alongside the founding engineer and customers to build and refine the product from the start.
• Design the software architecture and evaluate technical trade-offs.
• Implement security best practices to protect application integrity and data.
• Take ownership of critical features and contribute to 0-to-1 product execution.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a full-stack engineer.
• Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails, React, Tailwind CSS, and PostgreSQL.
• Experience making autonomous decisions and solving problems in an early-stage environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to understand the big picture.
• Previous experience in a developer role at a high-growth startup.
• Alignment with the mission of improving transparency in the food system.

Nice to have

• UI/UX knowledge and experience working closely with design teams.
