Import Analyst (Defense)

Salary: $64,600–$80,700 in Auburn Hills, East Syracuse, Grayling, and Orlando; $71,000–$88,800 in Bristol and Cranston; $77,400–$96,800 in Ashburn, Quincy, and Washington, DC.

What you will do

• Build and operate hirify.global's U.S. import control framework, including entry reviews, exception handling, and CBP inquiries.
• Coordinate with site shipping teams, programs, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and international affiliates.
• Draft and implement import policies and procedures covering permanent imports, TIBs, carnets, DSP-61 licenses, DFE, broker engagement, and recordkeeping.
• Review entry packets and resolve classification, valuation, origin, and documentation issues before broker filing.
• Maintain HTS classifications, coordinate ECCN and USML questions, and administer DFE documentation under HTSUS 9808.00.30 and DFARS 252.225-7013.
• Manage ACE import support, customs bonds, broker authorizations, ISR approvals, compliance KPIs, and durable import records in systems such as OCR EASE or SharePoint.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in international business, supply chain, or a related field with 3+ years of U.S. import, customs operations, or import compliance experience; alternatively, a master's degree with 1+ year of experience or an equivalent combination.
• Working knowledge of CBP entry procedures, HTS classification, broker filing, and entry-packet review.
• Export-control literacy sufficient to identify and escalate DSP-61, TIB, carnet, and ITAR issues.
• Experience writing or improving procedures, playbooks, SharePoint tools, or trackers used by other employees.
• Microsoft Excel proficiency and comfort working with ACE, GTM tools, and internal systems.
• Must be a U.S. person: U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual. Access to export-controlled technical data and a DoD security clearance may be required.

Nice to have

• Defense-industry experience and an existing security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
• Experience working with foreign entities and cross-cultural stakeholders.
• Interest in pursuing the Customs Broker License exam with hirify.global's support.
