Consultant, Solution Design and Strategy (Fintech)

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada. The proportion of on-site and remote work will be discussed during the interview. Candidates must be legally eligible to work at the specified location and may need a valid work or study permit.

What you will do

• Create the solution design for a modernized wire payments platform within the multi-year Enterprise Wires Modernization program.
• Align interim solutions across phases and workstreams with the target-state architecture and ongoing support requirements.
• Define end-to-end technical solutions covering payment channels, Payment Services Hubs, payment engines, and payment rails.
• Evaluate solution viability against product timelines, budget, quality, enterprise architecture strategies, and current-state constraints.
• Lead the design council, secure stakeholder alignment, and remediate design and build issues.
• Evaluate emerging tools and techniques and support technology proposals through cost estimation and option analysis.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of overall experience, including 4 or more years as a Solution or Technical Consultant.
• Experience guiding technical teams, working with business and architecture teams, preparing executive presentations, and presenting to senior stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of high-value payments ecosystems, including SWIFT and Lynx wire payments.
• Experience with event-driven architecture, REST APIs, microservices, CI/CD processes, and DevOps pipelines.
• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or another technical discipline.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada is required.

• Client-facing consulting experience.
• Knowledge of global and Canadian payments modernization initiatives.
• Knowledge of ISO 20022 and payment processing platforms such as Payment Services Hubs and payment engines.
