TL;DR
WLAN Engineer (Aruba): Designing, implementing, migrating, and optimizing customer wireless networks and Aruba solutions with an accent on WLAN architecture, authentication, switching, routing, and security. Focus on simulating customer designs, troubleshooting complex network and VoIP issues, developing migration plans, and delivering consulting services at customer sites.
Location: Hybrid, with an average requirement of two days per week from an HPE office; travel to customer sites is required

What you will do
- Provide pre-sales and post-sales network design and consulting services for Aruba-HPE teams, customers, and partners.
- Deliver the full customer services lifecycle, including planning, high- and low-level design, implementation, migration, and optimization.
- Create customer requirements documents, business outcome plans, installation plans, network-ready-for-use plans, migration procedures, and validation checks.
- Analyze and resolve reported technical and operational issues, formulate action plans, and continuously improve network uptime and security conformance.
- Simulate customer designs in a lab and contribute to solution development and knowledge-base publications.
- Conduct quarterly customer reviews and collaborate with Aruba, customer, QA, engineering, and field teams.
Requirements
- 2–5+ years of experience supporting Aruba products and customers, including at least 3 years of customer-facing consulting and network design experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with one or more Aruba products, such as IAPs/controllers, AirWave, ClearPass, Central, or Aruba switches.
- Knowledge of authentication protocols and servers, including RADIUS, TACACS, PKI, LDAP, 802.1X, and network device AAA.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting VoIP protocols such as SIP, SVP, and H.323, plus customer network design and implementation.
- Strong understanding of wireless concepts and Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, with the ability to work independently and communicate with senior customer stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Advanced expertise in switching, routing, network security, data-center design, and protocols including BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, and MSTP.
- Industry certifications such as CCIE, CWNA, ACCP, ACMP, ACMX, ACDX, or RHEL.
- Experience with Linux, Windows administration, SQL/PostgreSQL, APIs, VPNs, NAC, captive portals, load balancing, and SNMP/AMON troubleshooting.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, PHP, HTML, or JavaScript.
