Technical Team Lead - Machine Learning

Salary: $165,000–$205,000 per year

What you will do

• Manage, coach, and mentor a small team to support team health, effectiveness, and career growth.
• Oversee machine learning solutions from problem scoping and data preparation through model optimization and deployment lifecycle activities.
• Partner with product and other teams to develop roadmaps and prioritize the use of team and company resources.
• Set and maintain technical standards for observability, stability, scalability, security, performance, and cost effectiveness.
• Guide modern machine learning and software development practices while providing hands-on technical assistance and problem-solving support.
• Lead special projects and contribute to an inclusive, high-performance working environment.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 3 years of experience with an object-oriented programming language such as Java or Python, ML/AI frameworks and libraries, data structures, and data modeling techniques.
• At least 3 years of software development experience building commercial and machine learning applications.
• Experience across the machine learning application lifecycle, including problem mapping, scoping, data gathering, data preparation, and model performance optimization.
• Project or team leadership experience with strong interpersonal skills.
• Working experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
