Senior EC&I Designer (Bilfinger nZero)

Location: Ellesmere Port, Cheshire West and Chester, United Kingdom; partial remote hybrid

What you will do

• Oversee and review drawing and document packs for EC&I projects.
• Compile or guide the preparation of functional design specifications, FAT, and SAT documents for analytical and metering systems.
• Perform and review cable, intrinsically safe loop, AC/DC load, lighting, and thermal capacity calculations.
• Check and approve other design engineers' work and coordinate comments from external approvers and appraisers.
• Train and advise EC&I design engineers, attend client meetings, and represent the company with clients.
• Support site and commissioning engineers, advise during pre-FAT and FAT, and improve project processes and design standards.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of relevant experience, ideally supported by a degree or time-served apprenticeship.
• Demonstrable experience designing hazardous-area installations.
• Experience with electrical installations in accordance with BS7671, 18th Edition.
• Strong communication, organisation, documentation, and revision-control skills.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects and communicate technical solutions to project teams and clients.

Nice to have

• CompEx EX01-EX04 and/or EX12 modules.
• Knowledge and experience with gas analytical and metering systems.
