TL;DR
Community Nurse (Mental Health) (Humanitarian Healthcare): Providing nursing and basic medical services to conflict-affected and vulnerable populations through community care, home visits, and a multidisciplinary mobile team with an accent on mental health support, clinical assessments, medication management, and case management. Focus on delivering care in field settings, managing patient vulnerabilities, maintaining accurate medical records, and coordinating referrals and emergency response activities.
Location: Kherson, Ukraine; field-based with frequent travel to communities in Khersonskyi raion. Office or remote documentation work is expected approximately one day per week.

What you will do
- Provide nursing care to clients with moderate and severe mental health conditions in community and home settings.
- Conduct basic medical assessments, including blood pressure, blood glucose, oxygen saturation, and ECG checks, and provide self-care recommendations.
- Dispense physician-prescribed medication, explain usage, and coordinate medication and medical supply replenishment.
- Conduct home visits with psychologists and psychiatrists, assess vulnerabilities, manage patients, and refer clients to appropriate services.
- Maintain medical records, collect health data, prepare reports, and contribute to schedules, routes, and supplies planning.
- Monitor community public health conditions and participate in field visits, emergency response activities, and coordination with healthcare partners and local stakeholders.
Requirements
- Education in nursing or another health-related discipline.
- At least 3 years of professional nursing experience in clinical or outpatient settings, including substantial palliative and home care experience.
- Fluency in Ukrainian is required.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, cope with stressful situations, work flexibly, and operate with limited resources.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as data collection, documentation, and weekly reporting.
- Ability to travel frequently to project locations and participate in official business trips and emergency response activities.
Nice to have
- Experience working with psychiatric patients.
- Experience in health programs or NGOs.
- Basic knowledge of English.
