TL;DR
Game Writer (Game Narrative): Creating high-quality text and dialogue for Elite Dangerous with an accent on worldbuilding, narrative design, and collaboration across game development disciplines. Focus on managing text requirements, developing style guides and glossaries, adapting content for localization, and supporting voice casting and recording.
Location: Cambridge, UK. Full in-studio or hybrid work is available, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the studio. Relocation support is available for candidates who need to relocate.

What you will do
- Write and deliver text and dialogue for Elite Dangerous in collaboration with the Game Director and discipline leads.
- Shape narrative design, worldbuilding, and player experience with the Design team.
- Estimate, schedule, and manage text requirements to deliver high-quality work on time and within budget.
- Promote strong narrative and text-authoring practices by creating style guides, glossaries, and supporting documentation.
- Review and prepare content from developers and external writers for in-game use.
- Coordinate with localization teams and support voice casting and recording.
Requirements
- Experience in a writing or narrative role on commercial games, preferably AAA titles.
- Strong copywriting and editorial skills across written and spoken game content.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective cross-disciplinary relationships.
- Expertise in storytelling and worldbuilding for visual and interactive media.
- Enthusiasm for both the creative and technical aspects of game writing.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Elite Dangerous lore, tone of voice, and ongoing development.
- Knowledge of management simulation games, especially Frontier titles.
