TL;DR
Operations Geologist (Deep Offshore Drilling): Supervising geological operations for exploration, appraisal, and development wells with an accent on real-time data QA/QC, formation evaluation, geosteering, and operational risk management. Focus on planning LWD, wireline, and sampling programs, interpreting pore pressure and geomechanics risks, and coordinating offshore geoscience personnel and service companies.

What you will do
- Supervise daily geological operations for exploration, appraisal, and development wells.
- Coordinate geological personnel, contracted services, equipment, and service company performance.
- Monitor real-time geological data, perform quality assurance and quality control, and support petrophysical interpretation.
- Contribute to well preparation, WSOR documentation, well proposals, prognosis pore pressure profiles, and data acquisition programs.
- Organize risk assessments, pre-job meetings, procedures, HSE audits, and safety reporting for onshore and offshore operations.
- Complete post-well analysis, geological reporting, REX development, and communication with drilling and geoscience stakeholders.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or equivalent Level 7 qualification.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in operations geology, including at least 2 years as a wellsite geologist.
- Deep offshore drilling experience, including HPHT, deviated, and complex horizontal wells.
- Advanced geosteering, formation evaluation, pore pressure, geomechanics, and operational risk management skills.
- Experience with wireline logging, logging while drilling, mudlogging, LWD and sampling program planning, and geological reporting.
- Fluent English required; French and Portuguese are advantageous. Operations Geology supervision certification must comply with CR EP GLO 005 requirements.

- French or Portuguese language skills.
- Experience with Gravitas and COP Toolbox digital systems.
