Software Engineer - Distributed Compute (C++)

Location: London, United Kingdom, or New York, NY, United States

Salary: USD 200,000–300,000 per year, plus discretionary performance-based bonuses and benefits.

What you will do

• Maintain and improve resource scheduling, data caching, and job monitoring for the research environment.
• Optimize user workloads and infrastructure-level workloads for faster iteration and improved resource efficiency.
• Provide users with metrics and real-time information about workload behavior.
• Work directly with quantitative traders and software engineers to understand technical needs.
• Set technical direction and take ownership of the software infrastructure supporting algorithmic research.
• Contribute individually while providing leadership and coordination across platform improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong C++ expertise, preferably with daily professional use.
• Familiarity with Python.
• Experience collaborating with quantitative researchers and traders.
• Strong communication, system design, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Linux, system and processor performance, and network communication.
