What you will do
- Design plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems for new construction, renovations, and complex building projects.
- Develop sanitary, storm, domestic water, sprinkler, standpipe, and specialty piping systems.
- Prepare coordinated mechanical drawings and construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Perform plumbing design calculations and pipe sizing.
- Coordinate plumbing and piping layouts with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and other disciplines.
- Support projects from design development through construction documentation while reviewing applicable codes and design standards.
Requirements
- 3+ years of relevant industry experience in plumbing and drainage design.
- Experience with or exposure to fire protection system design.
- Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
- Experience preparing drawings, coordinating piping layouts, and performing design calculations.
- Working knowledge of Canadian, provincial, and local building and plumbing codes.
- Relevant post-secondary education in engineering technology, building systems, mechanical design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; strong communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to have
- Registration as a C.Tech., C.E.T., or equivalent designation with the applicable provincial professional association.
