TL;DR
ML/AI Compiler Engineer (C++/LLVM/MLIR): Designing and implementing compiler technologies that optimize machine-learning models for embedded ARM and RISC-V hardware with an accent on graph compilation, model lowering, and end-to-end inference performance. Focus on building compiler passes, improving code generation through profiling and simulation, and solving optimization challenges across automotive system-on-chip architectures.

Location: Bucharest, Romania; flexible work hours and a work-from-home policy are available.

What you will do

  • Design and implement ML/AI compiler technologies for optimizing models on embedded hardware.
  • Develop compiler features for ARM- and RISC-V-based CPU cores using C++ and LLVM.
  • Build graph compiler and MLIR capabilities for model lowering, optimization, and execution.
  • Optimize inference performance across semiconductor platforms through fusion, tiling, scheduling, and code generation.
  • Collaborate with hardware architects, ML researchers, architecture teams, and internal compiler-tool users.
  • Analyze generated code with simulators, profilers, and other tools to improve compiler quality.

Requirements

  • University degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, with exposure to machine learning, Edge AI, and embedded systems.
  • 5+ years of professional experience with compiler technologies, including LLVM/MLIR, LLVM IR, Clang, optimization pipelines, code generation, and linkers.
  • Experience with ML frameworks and software stacks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, MLIR, XLA, TVM, or TensorRT.
  • Production-quality Python and C++ programming skills.
  • Experience optimizing graph compiler passes and lowering PyTorch or TensorFlow models into efficient intermediate representations.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems, computer architecture, caches, pipelines, and instruction set architectures.

  • Experience contributing to the open-source community.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working with remote teams in a worldwide virtual environment.
