SEM Lab Technician

Location: Corvallis, Oregon, United States of America; onsite

Salary: $29–$43 USD per hour for candidates in the United States of America.

What you will do

• Perform physical analysis of materials, inks, components, and material properties using SEM and mechanical cross-section techniques.
• Investigate product problems and probable causes of failure in collaboration with engineering partners.
• Generate high-quality data, detailed reports, laboratory images, and results using SFT LIMS and laboratory software.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot advanced analytical instruments.
• Develop analytical methods, document operating procedures, and support quality systems through proper technique and gauge studies.
• Manage priorities, workloads, equipment issues, and negotiated delivery dates while mentoring and training laboratory personnel.

Requirements

• 5+ years of analytical or R&D laboratory technician experience.
• 3+ years of SEM experience; mechanical cross-section experience is a plus.
• AA/AS degree in chemistry, metals, materials, physics, computers, electronics, or a similar technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of routine laboratory procedures, equipment, and material science fundamentals.
• Ability to perform complex assignments with minimal supervision, prioritize work, and operate instruments in non-routine situations.
• Must work onsite in Corvallis, Oregon, United States of America; relocation is not provided.
