TL;DR
Associate Manager, Operations (Supply Chain): Establishing and executing Ethiopia's end-to-end operations model for importing, clearing, warehousing, fulfilling, and distributing solar products with an accent on customs compliance, inventory integrity, and 3PL management. Focus on designing SOPs and controls, coordinating logistics partners, managing warehouse and inventory performance, and improving service levels and operational costs.
Location: Onsite in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

What you will do
- Help establish and continuously improve Ethiopia’s end-to-end operations model, covering imports, customs, warehousing, inventory, fulfilment, distribution, and reverse logistics.
- Develop operational SOPs, process flows, controls, trackers, management reports, and performance frameworks.
- Coordinate shipment planning, customs clearance, documentation, duties, taxes, permits, certifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Establish warehouse processes and monitor inventory accuracy, traceability, stock movements, cycle counts, reconciliations, stock-outs, and aging inventory.
- Source, onboard, and manage 3PLs, clearing agents, transporters, warehouse providers, and other operational suppliers.
- Monitor SLAs, KPIs, delivery performance, claims, losses, damages, logistics costs, and corrective actions across inbound and outbound distribution.
Requirements
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Procurement and Logistics, Distribution, or an equivalent field.
- At least 4 years of progressive experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations.
- Practical experience in import/export, customs clearance, transport, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution.
- Experience managing 3PLs, clearing agents, transporters, and other operational service providers.
- Experience with ERP/CRM systems and strong data skills using Excel or Google Sheets.
- Knowledge of Ethiopian legislation and regulatory requirements related to importation, customs, transport, and warehousing.
Nice to have
- Experience in FMCG, consumer electronics, solar or energy, telecommunications, or another high-volume distribution environment.
- Experience developing or improving operational processes, SOPs, controls, and performance reporting.
