Finance Manager

Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; hybrid workplace

hirify.global is an off-grid solar energy company combining solar products, energy-efficient appliances, PAYG financing, fintech, and field operations to expand energy access.

What you will do

• Manage Ethiopian federal, regional, and city-level tax compliance, including returns, payments, reconciliations, assessments, audits, and disputes.
• Coordinate statutory audits, internal audit reviews, control testing, audit schedules, and resolution of audit queries.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities and prepare IFRS-compliant and Ethiopian statutory financial statements.
• Maintain accurate general ledger records, balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset registers, and local chart of accounts reporting.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank and general ledger reconciliations, shipment cost allocation, and month-end processes.
• Provide financial, tax, compliance, and business performance insights to regional leadership and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or an equivalent professional qualification.
• 7–10+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including significant experience in a Finance Manager or senior accounting role in Ethiopia.
• Practical experience with Ethiopian federal and regional tax compliance and tax authority audits.
• Experience coordinating statutory or external audits from planning through sign-off; Big Four or reputable audit firm experience is preferred.
• Strong experience preparing IFRS-compliant financial statements and managing month-end and year-end close in a multinational or group-reporting environment.
• Knowledge of Ethiopian company law and National Bank of Ethiopia foreign exchange regulations is advantageous.

• Experience in energy, off-grid or renewable energy, telecommunications, FMCG, or a multinational environment.
• Experience with a Big Four or reputable audit firm.
