AI Engineering Lead/Architect (Applied AI)

What you will do

• Own the AI delivery operating model and the path from prototype through qualification, build, hardening, and rollout.
• Build and lead the AI engineering team, including hiring two engineers and establishing engineering standards.
• Design, build, deploy, maintain, and personally ship agentic solutions and client-facing AI assets.
• Own solution architecture, infrastructure, model selection, validation, and production standards.
• Implement governance as engineering through policy-as-code, guardrails, evaluation, automated checks, and release gates.
• Partner with automation, application engineering, consulting, and practice SMEs to productize prioritized pilots.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in engineering, architecture, platform, or engineering leadership roles.
• Ownership of at least one production system, including architecture, launch, operation, and technical trade-offs.
• Player-coach experience leading engineers while continuing to ship production code; production coding experience within the last 12 months.
• Expert Azure experience, including AKS or Container Apps, VNets, Entra ID, Key Vault, managed databases, and infrastructure as code, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Experience delivering systems governed by ISO 27001, SOC 2, DORA, HIPAA, or equivalent, with controls implemented as running code.
• Production experience with Python as the primary language and hands-on experience building agents and running open-weight models such as Ollama, llama.cpp, or vLLM.

Nice to have

• Claude Certified Architect certification.
• Microsoft Agentic AI Business Solutions Architect certification.
• LLM or agentic systems taken to production.
• Experience deploying accelerators or productized intellectual property across multiple clients.
