Sr. Principal Packaging Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: Marsa, Malta; travel to domestic and international manufacturing locations is required.

Minimum annual base salary: €47,200, with potential bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Plan and execute packaging projects covering quality, regulatory compliance, supplier changes, cost savings, and new product introductions.
• Manage multiple packaging projects across domestic and international manufacturing facilities.
• Develop testing protocols and coordinate change control with manufacturing plants, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
• Evaluate packaging materials and techniques, identify cost-reduction opportunities, and investigate new material sources.
• Create packaging material specifications, drawings, and procedural specifications.
• Support packaging design, development, verification testing, process qualification, and technical issue resolution; act as Packaging Manager when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in Packaging or a relevant engineering discipline such as Mechanical, Chemical, or Biomedical Engineering.
• 6–8 years of experience in packaging, engineering, or a similar field.
• Proficiency with packaging materials and processes, problem analysis and resolution, statistical methods, and design of experiments.
• Understanding of change control and experience implementing projects within required timelines.
• Experience working with cross-functional technical and non-technical teams.
• Ability to apply Lean concepts, coordinate work, and present technical and project management overviews.
