Manufacturing Lab Technician

Location: Nearest major market: Altoona; nearest secondary market: Johnstown.

Salary: $50,000–$70,000 annually, plus a performance-related bonus plan.

What you will do

• Test and inspect materials throughout manufacturing and refining processes against internal and customer specifications.
• Perform chemical analysis and physical characterization of samples, then compile, evaluate, maintain, and report laboratory and quality data.
• Review analytical results against historical data and specifications before reporting them.
• Coordinate Pot Rite Services and spectrochemical standards manufacturing, including customer quotations, orders, custom standards, and certification.
• Maintain inspection records, sample storage, retention and disposal processes, and coordinate disposition of nonconforming materials.
• Support ISO, RoHS, laboratory safety, method development, and continuous improvement activities while providing customer support.

Requirements

• BS degree in a scientific discipline and 2–3 years of related laboratory experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with laboratory testing, data analysis, interpreting specifications, testing requirements, and quality standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, documentation, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in laboratory and manufacturing environments while managing multiple priorities.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for working with customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business software applications, with a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
