TL;DR
Instrument Specialist (Power Plant Instrumentation): Installing, maintaining, calibrating, testing, troubleshooting, configuring, and repairing power plant instrumentation and process control systems with an accent on CEMS, DCS systems, regulatory testing, and plant optimization. Focus on diagnosing industrial instrumentation to the component level, performing system upgrades, maintaining compliance records, and responding to unsupervised emergency callouts.
Location: Hayden, Colorado, United States; on-site power plant work. Scheduled and emergency overtime, back-shift callouts, and travel to other sites may be required.
Starting base pay: $62.81 per hour

What you will do
- Install, maintain, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, configure, and repair power plant instrumentation and process control systems, including CEMS.
- Perform operational and regulatory testing and prepare, review, and submit supporting records.
- Specify equipment and initiate purchase requisitions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and testing records.
- Upgrade equipment and systems using current technology to optimize plant operations.
- Respond to scheduled and emergency back-shift callouts and travel to other sites when required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two-year certificate from a vocational technical institute in electronics or instrumentation, or company-approved equivalent training and experience.
- Four or more years of power plant, industrial, or refining experience.
- At least two years of troubleshooting and repairing electronic or industrial instrumentation at the component level is desired.
- Basic understanding of DCS systems, communications, and components.
- Ability to work independently during back-shift callouts; a skills assessment may be required during the interview process.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of plant chemistry and water composition and how water operates within a power plant.
- Basic understanding of anhydrous ammonia operations in a power plant.
