Splunk Manager - Performance & Observability Engineering (Splunk): Leading enterprise observability and performance engineering across applications, networks, and infrastructure with an accent on Splunk, AppDynamics, ThousandEyes, and full-stack visibility. Focus on designing integrated monitoring platforms, reducing MTTD and MTTR, solving complex availability issues, and managing observability and release management teams.

What you will do
- Own and evolve enterprise observability strategy across application performance, network experience, and log and metric analytics.
- Lead the design, deployment, integration, and optimization of AppDynamics, ThousandEyes, and Splunk.
- Drive automation, alert tuning, noise reduction, dashboards, runbooks, and workflows for proactive risk detection.
- Partner with SRE, NOC, incident management, development, infrastructure, network, and security teams to improve detection, triage, and resolution.
- Lead root cause analysis for major incidents and oversee remediation plans that improve reliability, scalability, and resilience.
- Manage and develop observability and performance engineers while overseeing the Release Management team and vendor relationships.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in application performance monitoring, observability, or production operations.
- 3+ years of experience managing or leading technical teams.
- Deep, hands-on expertise with Splunk, including search, dashboards, alerts, and log and metric ingestion.
- Experience supporting mission-critical, customer-facing applications in regulated or highly available environments.
- Strong executive communication and the ability to translate technical insights into business impact.
Nice to have
- Experience in financial services, banking, or other highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with SRE practices, SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
- Experience integrating observability tools with CI/CD pipelines and incident management platforms.
- Certifications in Splunk, AppDynamics, ThousandEyes, cloud platforms, or ITIL.
