TL;DR
Lead SoC Architect (Semiconductor): Defining scalable, high-performance architectures for next-generation compute platforms with an accent on subsystem partitioning, memory hierarchy, interconnects, performance modeling, and third-party IP integration. Focus on analyzing power, performance, area, bandwidth, latency, and scalability while leading cross-functional architecture development, silicon bring-up, and post-silicon optimization.

Location: Taiwan; the role requires on-site presence in the Sunnyvale, California office.

What you will do

  • Define top-level SoC architectures, subsystem partitioning, interface specifications, and microarchitecture requirements.
  • Lead tradeoff analysis across performance, power, area, bandwidth, latency, and scalability.
  • Develop performance models, analyze workloads, and identify bottlenecks using C, C++, SystemC, or similar tools.
  • Define memory hierarchy, NoC and interconnect strategies, cache structures, and coherency architecture.
  • Evaluate and integrate CPU, GPU, NPU, PCIe, memory, Ethernet, multimedia, and security IP.
  • Collaborate with RTL, verification, physical design, firmware, software, and system teams through validation, silicon bring-up, debugging, and optimization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in SoC architecture, ASIC development, or complex semiconductor system design.
  • Strong knowledge of modern SoC architectures, subsystem integration, RTL development, and verification methodologies.
  • Experience with CPU, GPU, or NPU architectures; NoC/interconnects; cache coherency protocols such as CHI, ACE, or CXL; and high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, UCIe, or Ethernet.
  • Experience with DDR5, LPDDR5X, or HBM memory systems, architecture modeling, performance analysis, and hardware/software interaction.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills; willingness to contribute as an individual contributor while leading others.

Nice to have

  • Experience with AI accelerator, GPU, networking, RISC-V, or datacenter SoC architectures.
  • Experience with chiplet-based or multi-die architectures and advanced process or package integration.
  • Experience with emulation, FPGA prototyping, and system-level validation.
  • Knowledge of Linux drivers, runtime software, or system software architecture.
  • Prior technical leadership across cross-functional engineering teams.
