Security Engineer (Expert Seniority Level) (AI)

Location: Hybrid. Workation is available from hirify.global locations for up to 4 weeks per year within the EU.

What you will do

• Lead advanced security reviews, threat analyses, and risk assessments across infrastructure, cloud, and workplace platforms.
• Design and improve security monitoring, detection, and response capabilities, including effectiveness and risk-reduction metrics.
• Improve security infrastructure and configurations across IAM, system hardening, SIEM, IDS/IPS, and XDR environments.
• Oversee vulnerability management, patching, and secure configuration processes using risk-based prioritization.
• Conduct complex incident response and forensic investigations, coordinate cross-functional teams, and implement lessons learned.
• Define security processes, SOC playbooks, secure-by-design practices, and AI-assisted workflows.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering and operations.
• Hands-on expertise with SIEM, detection and response, IAM, hardening, infrastructure, cloud, and workplace security.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, identity technologies, and Active Directory.
• Experience with vulnerability management, risk-based prioritization, remediation governance, and stakeholder alignment.
• Ability to translate technical risks into business-relevant insights and advise senior stakeholders.
• Professional English proficiency required.

Nice to have

• Recognized security certifications or an ambition to obtain them.
• Scripting and automation skills.
• Experience or strong interest in AI or machine-learning applications for security operations.
• Additional European languages.
