Sr. Manager, Field Engineering (Data & AI)

What you will do

• Lead, hire, onboard, coach, and develop a team of Solutions Architects supporting the Startups segment.
• Partner with Sales and other Field Engineering teams to increase revenue and help customers achieve successful outcomes.
• Guide technical qualification, validation, architecture discussions, and product demonstrations.
• Engage strategically with executive customers to shape data infrastructure decisions and go-to-market strategy.
• Maintain the team’s advanced knowledge of the Databricks technology stack and ensure continuous learning.
• Build relationships with systems integrators, independent software vendors, Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success.

Requirements

• Proven experience building and leading technical pre-sales teams, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and mentoring.
• 10+ years of experience in the data space with a technical product, such as data warehousing, big data, machine learning, or generative AI.
• Experience advising technical executives on strategic data infrastructure decisions.
• Ability to influence and review complex architectures and guide customers toward scalable solutions.
• Technical credibility with Engineering talent and leadership.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success.
