R&D Power Engineer

Location: King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, United States

Salary: $97,740–$144,460 annually for the Power Engineer level; ranges may differ based on experience, responsibility, and final title.

What you will do

• Lead the specification, design, implementation, and testing of protective relays for electric power systems.
• Develop concepts for new product ideas and product enhancements.
• Serve as the technical lead for projects involving cross-disciplinary teams.
• Develop technical papers on innovative power system protection solutions and present them at conferences and seminars.
• Apply power system protection expertise and SEL operating and manufacturing principles.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Typically 10+ years of experience in electrical power systems, protection practices, and protection philosophies.
• Knowledge of power system analysis, power system protection, and power system stability.
• Strong technical training, speaking, and writing skills.
• Experience leading projects with cross-disciplinary teams.
• Satisfactory background check and negative drug test results.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of SEL products.
• Experience with power system modeling.
