Compliance, Regulatory Affairs and Resources, Regional Country Compliance, Vice President, Tokyo (Regulatory Compliance): Designing and maintaining Japan-specific compliance frameworks, responding to regulatory inquiries, and overseeing filings, privacy, outsourcing, and training programs with an accent on regulatory engagement, policy governance, and risk management. Focus on coordinating examinations, identifying control gaps, leading remediation projects, and preparing accurate regulatory responses and governance reporting.

What you will do
- Design, review, and maintain Japan-specific compliance policies, frameworks, and governance programs.
- Interface with regulators, prepare written responses, coordinate examinations and inspections, and manage regulatory inquiry applications.
- Advise business, engineering, operations, risk, compliance, and legal stakeholders on regulatory expectations and control enhancements.
- Oversee Personal Information Protection Law compliance, including self-assessments, incident management, and reporting.
- Review inter-affiliate outsourcing arrangements and provide guidance on applicable compliance requirements.
- Lead compliance training, regulatory filings, remediation initiatives, cross-divisional projects, and governance reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience in compliance, legal, regulatory affairs, risk management, or related control functions.
- Native-level Japanese and full professional fluency in English, both oral and written.
- Familiarity with financial products and markets, including equities, options, and fixed income.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance risk management concepts, with strong analytical, research, project management, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage time-sensitive regulatory matters, identify control gaps, recommend remediation, and produce accurate documentation.
Nice to have
- Graduate degree in law, business, public policy, or a related field.
- Experience representing financial institutions in regulatory interactions, examinations, and inquiries.
- Experience with policy drafting, compliance training, Personal Information Protection Law management, or inter-affiliate outsourcing governance.
- Experience using emerging technologies or AI to optimize compliance workflows and governance frameworks.
